Fisher Productions were delighted to be asked by The Royal Academy of Arts to design and produce their Summer Preview Party.

They were particularly keen to make a splash and secure their social diary position. The brief was to make a big statement in the courtyard and give the event a rather British stamp. Fisher suggested creating a giant union jack covering the façade of the building and styling the rooms inside along seaside lines. The main room was given a faded hotel lobby look with mismatched chairs and a teak central bar. There was a dockside ‘Oysters and Beer’ cart decorated with fishing nets and barrels, a Chintzy Tea Room with lace doilies and a grand piano and an Olde English Sweetie Shop with jars of lemon drops and humbugs with old fashioned weighing scales and pink stripy bags. After the event two ‘Mr Whippy’ vans pulled in to the courtyard and this, along with a strawberries and cream stall, became our al fresco dessert. The event was attended by Mr Ewan McGregor, Miss Elle Macpherson, Claudia Schiffer and newlyweds Laura Parker Bowles and Harry Lopes.
