London & Continental Railways, Launch of Channel Tunnel Rail Link One
London & Continental wanted to raise awareness of the opening and of the companies involved as well as celebrate the public/private partnership with the government and the completion of the tunnel being on time and on budget. They wanted us to create events to entertain 3,800 guests (press, TV crews and VIPS) in four locations, to co-ordinate the transportation of guests arriving from Paris, Brussels, Lille and Waterloo and between the four locations and were hoping to astound their audience and achieve a media frenzy...
Fisher were asked to create all aspects of the presentation, including
research, scripts, shooting and editing the video content for 14
speakers, as well as having the responsibility for delivering the key
messages.
We built a temporary station at Sandling, where the official launch was
to take place and designed and produced an exhibition, reception, lunch
and presentation at Leeds Castle, including satellite links with
Sandling. We erected a 10 metre-wide projection screen and created an
innovative film and presentation using the cutting edge Watchout
Graphic System.
Fisher handled every aspect of one of the most challenging events ever
staged in the UK and was awarded Gold Medals for both ‘Best use of
Logistics’ and ‘Best UK Event’ in the ITMA Awards. Guest comments
included; ‘a day with a real buzz of excitement’, ‘a superbly well put
together programme’ and ‘a marvellous event to celebrate the occasion’.
Eurostar deepened its market share, boosted staff morale enormously and
gained huge positive publicity.
