Experiential Sampling Tour

Costa Coffee wanted to promote their Ice Cold Costa range and run sampling activity around the UK. Paratus Communications devised a creative campaign to differentiate the brand from its many competitors and brought Fisher Productions on board to manage and produce the experiential sampling element.

The Costa Ice campaign consisted of a branded vintage ice cream van touring 16 UK venues, including parks and seaside resorts, serving Costa’s ice cold drinks.

The ice cream van was modified and wrapped with Costa branding by Fisher especially for the campaign. The locations of the van were promoted through Costa’s social media sites. and via regional press.

Ina very PR-able twist, consumers were also able to request the van visited their homes or workplaces via a specially designed app.

The campaign was deemed a great success with over 70,000 people tasting a Costa Ice drink sampled from the van over the four weeks of activity and Costa Coffee sold more than six million Ice Cold Costa drinks to UK consumers in 2012.
