Working alongside the team at the Wallace Collection, Mustard Catering, Lavender Green Flowers and Sternberg Clarke we created an intimate and unforgettable evening to showcase the venue through a luxury immersive experience complete with actors telling the stories of Herford House.
On arrival, guests walked down a candlelit pathway towards the building entrance, to emulate a time before electricity. Once inside, a formally dressed host guided attendees to the main landing where they were greeted with champagne and canapes.
Suddenly, as if transported through time, a man appeared the in 1700’s attire to welcome guests and introduce the splendour and history of Hertford house. Almost as soon as he came, he was gone, as if the house had been visited by the ghost of the 4th Marquess of Hertford himself.
Moving into the galleries ‘the maid’ ushered guests past the Cabinet of Curiosities and into the Drawing Rooms. Dressed in all her finery, ‘the lady’ was waiting under the 1767 French masterpiece The Swing by Jean-Honoré Fragonard. Taking a shining to one guest, she presented him with a key “to unlock the secrets of the house”.
Singing songs of French defeat against the English in battles gone by, ‘the general’, filled his glass and directed guests through to the Great Galleries. A banqueting table, beautifully dressed with flowers by Lavender Green Flowers lay waiting in the vast galleries. The maid, Sir Richard Wallace and his Lady wife joined guests to enjoy a three-course silver service meal with bespoke wine pairings by Mustard Catering.
After using their keys to unlock the mysterious doll’s house and discovering an invite to the year 2000, guests moved to the courtyard where the celebrations began. Surrounded by illuminated trees and light features, a stunning fireworks display by the Fisher production team crashed through the skies.
The evening came to a close with a beautiful aerial performance produced by Sternberg Clarke, accompanied by cocktails and desert.
All guests agreed, it was a truly unforgettable experience of the Wallace Collection.
