Fisher Productions were delighted to produce this year's prestigious Preview Party for the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition 2014.
The annual party holds a special place in the calendar of the Royal Academy and Fisher Productions are honoured to have produced the event for the last 9 years.
The Summer Exhibition represents new and recent art created by emerging artists as well as some of the biggest names in contemporary art and architecture. It has been in existence for 246 years and remains a powerful barometer of the art through the ages.
Each year Fisher work to enhance the party with concept design and production, to create a specific theme; this year drawing inspiration from the minimalism of Scandinavian architecture and influences.
Guests from the world of art, music and fashion entered the exhibition via the historic courtyard which was transformed with faux turf and lighting effects. Inside the building Fisher took inspiration from the recent Sensing Spaces: Architecture Reimagined exhibition held at the Royal Academy, designing and creating imaginative structures incorporating the bars and food stations on an epic scale.
Highlights included; a central bar interpreting a modernist Scandinavian beached timber house, standing at 6m high, and an infinity forest seafood bar.The desert bar was a 2-dimensional cut-out of a retro caravan which brought a quirky edge to the gallery spaces, with guests collecting desserts through the caravan windows. All installations were built in house by Fisher Staging.
After viewing the exhibition, guests moved to the courtyard where the Kaiser Chiefs performed an incredible set on a bespoke stage, flanked by 6m high RA letters with spectacular lighting all created and built by the Fisher team.
